History of Konica Minolta

On January 7, 2003, Konica and Minolta two different imaging solution providers announced a merger to form Konica Minolta; a single company with the aim to provide high-end copier machines and printers around the world. The complete organizational structure was completed in October 2003 and the company continued its operations by providing imaging solution to the industry. Konica Minolta uses the Globe logo that is quite similar but not identical to Minolta and it also keeps the Minoltaā€™s slogan line ā€œThe essentials of imagingā€ to market its products. Konica Minolta is a technology company whose headquarter is in Tokyo, Japan and it serves the whole globe with its 49 regional offices spread across the world.

In history, Konica and Minolta were the major exporters of the camera and related products, but after the merger, in 2006 it quits the camera business by selling out the division to the Sony Company through a contract starting on 31st March 2006. In 2007, Konica Minolta completely shuts down its photo imaging division and started to focus on providing business solutions. Konica Minolta launched a series of copiers with the name of Bizhub that were designed to cater the printing needs of individuals and businesses. Konica Minolta made its copier a one-stop solution to meet all the document production requirements of offices by integrating copying, scanning, fax, and printing features in single units of its copier machines. This concept proved to be a hit and it widely spread the products of Konica Minolta all around the world.

Konica Minolta Product Range

Konica and Minolta both companies started their journey as a manufacturer of camera and related products, but after the merger, they discontinued their camera production services and utilized their research in the development of copier machines. The extensive research and amazing team enabled Konica Minolta to produce the most favorite copier machines series for professionals. The launch of Bizhub was a hit due to its superb performance and reliable print quality. Konica Minolta used the proven digital imaging techniques in the production of its copier machines that take the company to the new heights. Since then, Konica Minolta is specialized in the production of copier machines and printers that are widely used by individuals, small firms and corporate groups. Along with copier machines, Konica Minolta also produces machinery for the healthcare industry, but printers & copiers are its primary product.
